First woman in India to get death penalty

For the first time in independent India, a woman will undergo capital punishment. This woman convict will be at the only gallows at Mathura jail. Photo by Reza Hasannia on Unsplash What was her crime? Thirteen years ago, In Uttarpradesh, Amroha district, a schoolteacher's only daughter Shabnam Ali went on a killing spree with her boyfriend. Shabnam was 25 at the time, and killed seven of her family members, including her parents and a 10-month-old nephew. Shabnam's mercy petition was rejected by the supreme court and now the president of India has also rejected her mercy plea. The proceedings to execute Shabnam have already started at Mathura. How Shabnam committed the murders? Shabnam's love for Saleem drove her to drug her family members with sleeping pills. So, that she could visit him secretly on that fateful night she drugged the family, and when they were all unconscious she killed them one by one. After the murder, Saleem fled but Shabnam stayed in. The next she r...

How solo travel purifies our soul?

Photo by Nicole Geri on Unsplash Are you sure the planet earth is the same as in the 90s? Not exactly. Many things have changed in these years. We got stuck in the cycle of life that never lets us rest. We are carrying more weight on our shoulders than that it actually could. I can feel the stress that your heart, body, and soul are undergoing now. No one can heal the scars that life has given us until we want to. Just because we can fly doesn't mean we should fly always. Sometimes taking buses and making the process slower will clear our view over the world. People won't be present when you need them the most. When the world hurts you again and again, Instead of fighting back, please take a break. Because break is what you needed the most. Spend money on making memories rather than materialistic things. Because memories are the one that accompany you till the doom. By traveling, we can experience an unseen world, and we can get a chance to meet new people to share our memor...

What can we learn from a Bangladeshis?

Once we have talked about India becoming a supergiant, still now we are talking about it. Many nations baited their kin to get back their economy. Many leaders lost their hope. But here is this particular nation in Asia sharing most of its border with India. This nation has one more name, that is the land of rivers. Yes, we are talking about Bangladesh. Thought, once Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan but got liberation in the year 1971. Still, Bangladesh is a brotherhood of Pakistan but with different principles. There was a time, Bangladesh was fighting for freedom. But now, its currency value is more than its brother(Pakistan). Bangladesh of 2.11% of the world's total population. Approximately 1260  persons per kilometre, the tenth most densely populated country in the world. We know Bangladesh is famous for its RMD(Ready Made Dresses). Even I have Bangladesh - made jeans in my closet. They are famous for labour-intensive jobs such as agriculture, garments, construction, m...

Who benefits from the conflict between India and Pakistan

Welcome back guys, today we are going to look at an exciting topic. Never make a question with "what" because the answer may contain blindspots. On the other hand, questioning with "why", for example, why did it happen?, gives you a clear view. With no further delay let's get started... Weaponry Traders when there is a conflict between two countries, they are in great demand of weaponry. Either to defend their kin or to suppress the opposition in the warfare. By recognizing this as an advantage on the world stage, the supplier will trade the weapons in extra amounts. With the help of the revenue generated, the company gets developed. The demand for arms will create jobs so that the nation's GDP gets increased. For example, recently, IAF has received five new Dassault Rafale fighter jets amid ongoing border tensions with China. The aircraft are part of India's deal with France in 2016 to buy 36 warplanes. As you can see in the above example, Who gets...

french colonies present day

France borders eight countries. But actually, it borders more than eight countries. And in fact, its longest border isn't even the one with Belgium or the one with Spain. It is the one with Brazil. What is going on here? We know only one version of France that is the l'hexagon. It is also called the La France Metropole. It is the mainland of France. It is the France you probably think of when you think of France in Europe. But there is another France, it is called France d'outre-mer, or the Overseas France. Overseas French accounts for almost 20% of all French land. And a whopping 97% of its ocean territory, nearly 3 million French citizens live here. The Overseas France is peculiar. France d’outre-mer includes far-flung tropical islands, remote archipelagos with penguins, and weird-looking, uninhabited atolls around the world. There is lobster fishing, scientific research, nuclear weapons testing, and military exercises. And the mind-blowing fact is that Overseas France is...

Why does the Sri Lankan Navy detain Indian fishermen?

There is a battle going on out there. It is not the battle for land or people, but a battle about fish. On the one side, Sri Lankan fishermen rely on fishing as the source of economy. And on the other side, you have their counterparts, Indian fishermen along the southeastern coast of India.  And out here on the water there’s an invisible line that marks where India’s territorial waters end and where Sri Lanka’s begin. Underneath this border, there’s treasure- not gold, but seafood. The communities on either side of this strait used to be friends, but now they’re locked in conflict. One side has bigger, faster boats. The other side has a well-armed navy equipped with war boats that they’re using to patrol this border. This is the fish war between India and Sri Lanka. The Ram Setu, one legend goes that the Hindu god Rama hired an army of monkey men to build a bridge from India to Sri Lanka so that he could go in and rescue his wife from a demon king. Geology suggests that ther...
